Rules
You absolutely must follow these rules whilst here. These rules are not designed to be intrusive, but to enforce common sense.
If you have a problem with any of the rules, or want to suggest changes, contact an administrator.
These rules may be changed at any time, and you can be banned for reasons not listed.
That said, if you feel a ban is unfair, please do appeal it!
General Rules - These apply everywhere
- Don't be an idiot.
- Listen to the instructions of administrators.
- Show other users the same respect you expect yourself.
- Respect others' opinions.
- No flaming, or trolling.
- Absolutely no racism or other hate speech.
- No linking to Warez, warez sites or other places you can find such things.
- Show new members respect. If they're doing something wrong, teach.
- Do not spam. Spamming includes repeating a message many times, or just a very stupid message.
- No links to explicit (NSFW) images without clearly identifying them as such.
- If you want to talk about potential spoilers on the forums, use the [spoiler] tags, and make it clear what the spoiler tag contains. (For Example: "Spoiler about the ending of Star Wars: Darth Vader dies".
- If you can't post without sounding negative, don't post. Either post constructively, or post positively.
- When posting in the forums or talking in game, please refrain from using chatspeak and converse in English, that is as gramatically correct and well spelled as you are able.
Server Rules
- Keep out of character complaints and arguments to a minimum. Nobody wants to hear your moaning, if people tell you to shut up do so.
- Your characters may not share the name of an important or famous real life figure.
- Do not metagame. Metagaming is acting on information your character does not know of. An example of this would be seeing text in local from behind a wall or in the OOC box, and then acting upon it. This behaviour is highly frowned upon here.
- Do not powergame. Powergaming is forcing a situation to go your way, or magically altering what has happened in the past. For example, if a meeting takes place, you may not afterwards declare you put a bug in the room. Either represent the bug in the game world with an item, or state that it is there to others.
Another example of powergaming is typing /me punches John. The correct statement would be /me throws a punch at John, as it gives the other person a chance to react. - Do not SWEP SWAP. Swep Swapping is when you ask another person to spawn you a weapon, even though they are not selling them.
- When your character dies, it does not remember how it died, who killed it or what it was doing. This is commonly referred to as the "New Life Rule".
- If you are robbing a building, consult with the owner out of character and find out if there are for example burgalar alarms in the building which may not be physically represented as a courtesy.
- When you get knocked out (assuming the knock out was legitimate and not someone running around throwing props at people), roleplay as if you were just hit by whatever it was. Same goes for taserings.
- "Retconning" (which means "Retroactive Continuity" as in, rewriting the story after events have taken place) is not usually allowed. Consult with an administrator before doing so.
- Players have complete control over whether their characters die. You cannot force another player's character to die permanently, ever.
